Marcos and Jessica Moonayas, a husband-and-wife team, opened Alushe Coffee Bar to bring their dream to life in San Francisco's Inner Richmond.
What does "Alushe" mean? In Mayan mythology, an Alux (Alushe) is a protective spirit that helps crops grow, summons rain, and patrols fields at night. We named our cafe after this spirit—a symbol of care, tradition, and community.
